CURRENT RESEARCH
My current work is at the intersection of environmental studies and video art practice. Over the past few years, I have increasingly included experimental film, photography, and video performance to my fieldwork methodology as part of a project on queer methods in sociology (which I currently develop at DePaul University). Grounded in Queer, Anarchist, and Anti-capitalist theory, my research is now focused on mineral ecologies and extraction in Lake Michigan, while developing video works that expands analog and sustainable film technologies. I also increasingly work with/on performance and art curation as research methods, as a way to reflect on embodiment and epistemic violence.
